The 2018 edition of “Women in Worship” was launched on Wednesday at AH hotel in Accra, with a call on the office of The First Lady to support “The Akatasia Campaign” a cervical cancer sensitization initiative.
This year’s event themed “Absolute Worship” would headline Nigerian Gospel Icon, Sinach and promises to unveil healing, breakthrough, blessings, grace and favour to worshippers who would patronize the event.
The all-Female Gospel Minstrel concert, also focuses on serving humanity by event which a supporting global education, sensitization and awareness on cervical cancer, with a campaign dubbed “The Akatasia Campaign.”
Speaking at the launching, the Chief Executive Officer of Genet Services and Founder of the event, Miss Georgina Netty disclosed that as Christians, our duty is bound to offering worship and praise to our Maker with every breath, as worship strengthens and solidifies our bond with the Father.
She noted that this year’s event slated for 20th September would be exceptional as her outfit carefully selected talent to production sequence and assured patrons of the event’s excellence.
She added that, “the major goal of the event is to switch from education to screening and provision of health care assistance for women with their campaign, where “Women in Worship” will own a mobile medical facility, with permanent medical personnel on board the campaign train,” and stated that the intention is to ensure that the initiative travels to other regions.
She made an appeal to The Office of the First Lady to support “The Akatasia Campaign” and urged the Gender Ministry, Corporate Ghana, the Health Service, pharmaceutical companies to rally around in support of the initiative.
“We have also created a television program called Buelah based on the lifestyle choices modern Christian women must make while living in this chaotic world”, she added.
She called on brands to tap into the opportunity for partnership and commercial association by supporting the event.
Minister Kekeli, a minister who would feature during this year’s event called on women to attend the event with their families, in order to encounter God in a special way.
She said that all who are burdened and afflicted must come and leave every heaviness to God who restores and releases all burdens in this challenging world.
According to her, she ministered last year and is optimistic that this year’s event would be another supernatural encounter.
This year’s event would also feature Ohemaa Mercy, the Evergreen Tagoe Sisters, Minister Jackie Mpare, Minister Kekeli, Ceccy Twum and the Legendary Emy Newman. It would come off on the 20th September at the Perez Dome, Dzorwulu.
