5 Reasons Why Most Underground Artistes Are Failing To Make It – Xbills
Ghanaian music industry is growing very fast like a wind day in and out and it’s being recognised internationally with amazing records set by some top musicians in Ghana and some young talented artistes.
The Godfathers of Ghanaian musicians are really doing amazing job and leaving a good name for young artist to pick and fellow as role models but the are a lot things one must learn before becoming the legend he or she wishes to be in life based on the field he or she has chosen.
There are thousands of Ghanaian youth doing music both locally and intentionally, but let ask ourselves how many artistes became successful in the Ghanaian music industry.
Here are some of the reasons why most artistes are still underground.
1. Good branding
Branding is one factor that’s hidden from most artistes to meet their fame they dying for all the time, a lot of young youth doing music lack the knowledge of branding, most artistes don’t even know the kind of style colours and culture to use sell their music brand. Most artistes design their music cover art any how, without letting the designer to know the kind of brand he or she is working having. Music cover art is package that really attracts music lovers to download tunes and fall in love with your music even though he or she has not yet listened to the content of your song. To make your music look special know yourself and what your music stands for.
Is good to boast of yourself and what you are capable of doing as human and to stand for it anytime you are called upon to display your talent. A lot of young Ghanaian artistes are very proud when they start getting a little hype and start meeting some stars they never knew they will see. Due to this, they start behaving and speaking to theirs elders and directors anyhow as if they know better than them. The music journey is very far and it needs totally humility to be able to cross all mountains and valleys on your way.
Most artistes value recording of their songs to promotion. An up-and-coming artiste can release about 100 songs within a year but cant even promote 5 songs to trend in the country. Most artistes relax and put all your promotion works on bloggers, DJs etc without even sharing or hyping it them selves to family and friends and thinking he or she will be the next star which he is boasting of.
Aside music release most young artistes have nothing to do with their brand when it comes to promotion, no story publicity about them, they don’t sell their music brand through societal problems and community development.
4. Quality sound and lyrics content.
A lot sound engineers can’t produce the quality of sounds to help make the artist song reach the standard and sound.
Most artistes also got a poor
content that music lovers can’t even understand the real meaning of their songs and the full picture of the song.
5. Fake music promoters
There are a lot fake music promoters in system claiming they are doing the real work for musicians to blow but they are not, most blogs are not properly built with followers but yet claim to be promoting music to reach a large volume Ghanaians and abroad.
