Wiyaala has had an amazing year! There’s no doubt about that, that’s why we are not surprised that she made it to BBC’s list of “Celebrated African Women” in 2018.
The songstress was listed amongst equal trail blazers and change makers shuch as Ilhan Omar, the first Somali-American to be elected to the US Congress, Sahle-Work Zewde, Ethiopia’s first female president, South African wrestler Cindi Gold, Somalian boxer Ramla Ali, FGM warrior Agnes Pareiyo and others.
The year 2018 was a good one for “The Lioness of Africa”, from touring Europe to appearing on the BBC as well as Sky News, Wiyaala not only gave her fans exciting and energetic performances, but also used the platforms to advocate for women to love themselves and their skin.
Wiyaala ended the year with her “Lioness Concert” which received great feedback from patrons.
Talk about giving back, Wiyaala went back home to Wa and Funsi where she inaugaurated “The Stage” as well as engaged the people in several variety shows.
Congratulations Lioness! Keep Soaring!
