The electricity service provider, Power Distribution Services (PDS) Ghana Limited, has been giving Ghanaians hard time with unpredictable electric power where most people in Kumasi are suffering most; Businesses are affected, and they not getting electric power to watch the AFCON.

In Ghana, dumsor (Akan pronunciation: [dum sɔ] ‘off and on’) is a persistent, irregular, and unpredictable electric power outage. The frequent Ghanaian blackouts are caused by power supply shortage. Ghanaian generating capacity is currently 400-600 megawatts less than Ghana needs. Ghanaian electricity distributors regularly shed load with rolling blackouts.
