The entertainment industry is changing to conform with new realities, and those changes bring new challenges and opportunities for investors and entrepreneurs in the industry.
All over the world, this year hasn’t been a very impactful year for every industry player and the entertainment industry in my region (Volta) is no exception because of the Covid-19 pandemic.
With halls, stadiums and other event centers staying under lock and key, is it safe to say that no sector of the entertainment industry has been left unscathed?
The good news is that, we can innovate new approaches to continue operation and making the entertainment industry more interactive for us all.
I will talk about two important ways in which the entertainment industry could change going forward to make showbiz in the Volta region more interactive.
Many aspects of the entertainment industry relied on physical attendance at events to bring in the profits.
Now, those events have become difficult to organize because of the various restrictions on public gatherings and movement from place to place.
The approach many players in the entertainment industry have to adopt is to begin to push their focus toward streaming and utilization of digital platforms to make profit.
2. Production and creativity
Across various industries, there has been a commitment by participants to democratize access and promote inclusivity to enable any interested person to access the tools necessary to achieve success.
The entertainment industry is far ahead on that curve, as seen in digital platforms like YouTube that allow actors, singers, and other entertainers to showcase their talents while bypassing the traditional gatekeepers.
This two approaches will help the industry grow to a surprising level which will make Volta Showbiz one of the notable ones in the history of Ghana entertainment.
